Working hard

Feeling really great at the moment, running is going well and will soon be able to get a new bike so can incorporate some different exercise in my routine.

Fridays are usually the day where I feel shattered but I talked myself into going out and actually felt better for it 4 miles 38:22 (9:35/mile)

Saturday was a bit of a busy day, spent a few hours getting pampered by getting my hair and nails done then out in the evening for a party and Sunday was a stay at home day.

Yesterday I went out to do 6 miles was lovely running in the rain although each step was a squelch and a squerch! Then Shred DVD when I got back

Today I decided to do a bit of speed work, alas Mr. Sorelimbs has stolen the GPS and couldn't really 'mapmyrun' as it was a field but I reckon one lap was 300 metres around the lap and bumpy.

Warm up
Lap 1 1:30
Lap 2 1:31
Lap 3 1:25
Lap 4 1:21
Lap 5 1:19
Lap 6 1:20
Warm down

Feel more shattered than yesterday's run! Back to do the DVD then a nice cup of tea.

I made the mistake of weighing myself today and wish I hadn't as absolutely no weight loss and still weigh 11 bloody stone, however I am definitely get more toned by doing the DVD and have lost some cms but will do a proper measuring update after the 30days is up.

Off to start my first shift at the gym this evening, nervous but looking forward to being in a busy place.

Swim and Shred

Today started with 30 lengths of the local pool then a quick cuppa at my folks, this evening I've done the Shred DVD getting better at some of the exercises but I'm not sure my wrist is meant to click when I do press-ups!

Today I've sorted out a new volutary job at a local gym, much busier than the last place so more to do and get involved with, staff seem really friendly. so on Tuesday evenings you will find me at http://saintshealthandfitness.com

Also another strange thing I retook my measurements to see if there were any small changes and have discovered that one thigh is 2cms bigger than the other! Bizarre!

Feckin Seagulls

The worst thing about living by the sea (in fact I think this is probably the only negative thing)is the nightmare seagulls. It's the time of year when the youngsters are getting ready to fly and the parents are so protective that they dive bomb you if you happen to be running past. You'd think they'd realise by now that if you keep your kids near a busy road then humans are going to pass by. Hmm what to do? I'll have to run with an air rifle strapped to my back, a kind of summer version of Biathlon.

Had a busy weekend with parties and the young boy being unwell so no Shred or run Sun/Mon, yesterday I did the Shred DVD it's too early to tell what effect it might have but I have sore arms, sore legs and am still sweating buckets!

This afternoon I managed to get out for a run, 4 miles with Sorelimb's hill not too bad - when I got back I set the DVD straight away and did another day of the Shred. Cheeky monkeys at an online retailer have put the price up for this DVD so get your copy quickly :-)

Saturday morning run

After Sorelimbs went out it was my turn, aimed to do a longer run today as very busy tomorrow watching Triathlon in Llandudno and then at a party.

Felt OK for most of it then my energy just seemed to sap and finished the rest of the run shockingly slow.

4.91 miles that's all I'm saying.

Tiggerifiic!

Whilst Tom had his nap earlier I did Day 2 of the 30 Day Shred, ouch - I'd better be lean and sculpted by the end coz pain on the second day must mean I'm working hard.

Out for a little 3 mile run this evening and I was bouncing along like Tom's best friend Tigger, really lovely weather up here he he!

3.18miles 30:06 9:27/mile

Ah it's all good :-)

30 Day Shred

If any of you have heard of Jillian Micheals from Biggest Loser then you'll know how much she pushes the participants, I'd heard about her DVD 30 day Shred and thought how can you do so much in 20 minute workouts? Well I did day 1 Level 1 and believe me I thought I had a reasonable amount of fitness but this really is intense.

20 minutes is made up of 3 circuits of cardio, strength and abs with a warm up and warm down and I have to say I loved every gruelling minute of it.

Looking forward to tomorrow and the next 29 days then on to level 2.

In other news sorelimbs, my brother and I are doing the 1/2 marathon on Anglesey at the end of September so need to get my arse out running tomorrow as well as the SHRED! Mustn't confused it for Shrek that's an entirely different DVD.
