Well as you can see from the title I have no words to describe how infuriatingly pants the last few weeks have been. Colds, baby having D&V, baby not sleeping, work, little sleep myself and generally peed off.

We didn't make it to Reading, Sorelimbs had not been able to fit in enough training and baby was ill so it wouldn't have been fair to leave him with my parents over night. So instead as it was my mums birthday we went out for a meal with lots of family and Sorelimbs is still recovering from the weekend!

So I know I've said this quite a few times before but I need to dust off my daps and get out running. I have Thursday afternoon off so will start then and do a little 3 miler to ease me back into it. I need to book a place for the Race for Life in Rhyl on 31st May, my pb is 28.30 and I know I can do much better than that.

I've put on a few lbs, she says munching some lovely Pringles, I still have about a stone to lose before I'm back to my weight before I had the little monsters!

So here we go again....................

5 1/2 miles - bloody windy

After Sorelimbs had been out for his plod it was time to get my lazy behind out as well, schedule said 6 miles today so pretty apprehensive as I haven't done this distance for a long, long time and after not feeling well at the end of this week not sure how I would get on.

I started off fine, took it easy for the first mile down to the beach then started running along the seafront. After about 1/2 a mile the wind really picked up an I was battling to walk let alone run, plus the sand was stinging my ankles (painful I can tell you!). So had to abandon my original route and come off the front and across to the main coast road beside the golf course. I ran up there quite well but the wind and bursts of rain were not going to make it easy for me, I lost my cap a couple of times. Queue of traffic along the route due to roadworks, I could tell they thought I'd lost the plot a tad. Anyway I carried on along the road until I got to Rhyl, then a bloody dog starts running towards me, this time no owner, so I was really wary as if it was a stray and hungry then my ankle looked quite tasty. Luckily it just ran off again.

I kept on the coast road until I got to the delight of Rhyl holiday park and decided to stop at the bus shelter to have some raisins as feeling decidedly peaky. Bloke looked at me maybe wondering if I was get the bus home but as it was raining again it seemed a good place to rest a min.

I felt much better after a handful of raisins and started on my way home, I took it easy again as I was rapidly losing energy but managed to keep going.

It took 1 hour 15 mins with the interruptions of the sand storm, the dog and refuel and a bit peeved that it was the full 6 miles but it's the longest run for ages so still happy.

Had a lovely bath and Sorelimbs made roasted veg and couscous for lunch so feeling content but slightly shattered.

A good morning. xx

I did go!

I did actually go for a run on Tuesday but I've only just been able to sit and post.

I decided to go down to the beach for a little plod, it was lovely albeit a bit windy but I managed to get into a nice stride pattern and was enjoying myself until some great big hairy dog gets in my way! The owner half-heartedly called it but the lumbering beast just ignored her. So I had to stop for a minute whilst it decided to eventually stop trying to slobber all over me and find a nice bit of grass to sniff.

That's my one annoying thing about running, bloody dogs or to be more precise owners that don't get them out of the way when they see you coming.

Anyway after that I carried on up the beach and decided to turn off at the beginning of Rhyl golf course then head back home. By the time I got back to my street the wind was really picking up and the rain had started, so I was glad to go out early.

Total mileage approx 4

Number of dog owners that need throttling 1

Number of husbands that passed on their stinky germs 1 - git has given me his cold and feeling ropey today but had a day off to rest so hopefully will be back out tomorrow.

Stop and Go

How quickly a week goes by and no further progress, it's very frustrating that I can't seem to do more than a weeks training and something else happens to put me right off course. So baby was ill all week so had to look after him, then I caught it a bit myself, and now Sorelimbs has it too - of course his is Flu not just a cold!

So feeling really frustrated with myself, I am definitely going out tomorrow when I finish work at 3pm I am going to get my kit ready right now so I can get changed quickly when I get back at 3.05pm (only teaching down the road).

Any ideas on how to juggle work, kids a demanding husband :-) and fitting in running somewhere? Answers in full, enough to fill a book that I can then pass off as my own and make a fortune.

I will report back tomorrow....honest....I will, don't roll your eyes like that!
